Supply chain slow-down hits even jewelry

With the economy rebounding from the pandemic slump, supply chain shortages are the name of the game even in school cafeterias. Shippers are - still - overwhelmed as capacity is limited and an ongoing driver shortage means higher prices and slower transit. The sudden spike in demand, paired with ongoing infection-related closures at factories, warehouses and retail spaces, means that things are likely to remain unstable for some time.

Our supply chain experts are constantly balancing different requirements among our global factories, and Covid-19 has added some complication to that balance. While we are seeing slightly longer turnarounds for some products, our team is able to leverage our capacity to shift away from impacted factories or areas with shipping issues and keep things moving. All of this is part of our commitment to our customers.

Minimizing impact

What can you do to minimize the potential impact of any supply chain disruption? Every expert we consulted agreed that the best thing you can do is plan ahead and order early. If you’re planning for the holidays, order now if possible. (See our holiday projections here.)

Communication is critical as well.  Let your account manager know when you need your samples and final production in-hand so they can work backward and let you know when you’ll need to approve designs or hit shipping targets.

Even rush orders may be slightly delayed, though there is often additional flexibility with US-based production if your collection is in recycled gold. Be sure to speak to your account manager to best understand potential delays.

Our solution-oriented team will do everything in their power to find a solution to any situation. But the best way to avoid any potential disruptions? Order now.
