The holidays start now

Christmas music seems to creep earlier every year. Let’s give it until Thanksgiving before we break out that Mariah Carey album, shall we?

In the jewelry business, we celebrate Christmas in July for one very good reason: design and production can take time. To prepare for Black Friday and Cyber Monday (BFCM), a growing shopping extravaganza, you should have product in hand by October. And October is just the beginning of the holiday rush.

When do you need to reorder?

Our usual production schedule can also experience delays as we get closer to the holidays and suppliers, factories, and shippers get overwhelmed. During the Covid-19 pandemic, this has proven especially true as unexpected spikes and slow-downs have been paired with temporary factory closures due to infection. While our team works tirelessly to ensure minimal interruptions, global supply chain challenges have made rush orders a special challenge.

For reorders during the holiday peak, we recommend customers assume eight weeks for production and shipping to avoid rush fees or potential delays at the border.

Is there time to launch a seasonal or holiday collection?

They say that fashion no longer respects seasons, but the holiday season remains by far the busiest time for shoppers.

If you’re considering launching new styles in time for the holidays and want to take advantage of our expert jewelry designers, you still have time – if you get started very soon.

Our design process can take from 3 to 6 weeks to complete. During peak season, our designers can be extremely busy, so you’ll want to get on their calendar and move quickly on approvals to start production in time to have stock by the holidays.

What else should I be thinking about for the holidays?

You may have marketing prepared and adequate stock, but do you have packaging? Many packaging providers sell out early, so be sure you have plenty of stock of the boxes, tissue, and any other materials you use when you ship your jewelry. If you’re looking for packaging, let us know! We are happy to develop custom recycled packaging for your collection.
